The name is Danby. Greyhill Danby

dark-warrior-untamed.jpg

In Alexis Morgan’s electrifying new Talion adventure, a sexy warrior fights to save his headstrong lover from the crossfire of an evil plot to overthrow the Kyth’s leader.

He questions everything.

No one thought Chief Talion Greyhill Danby would report to work so soon after wrapping up his affairs in London. Then again, he didn’t expect to find a beautiful spy with a major attitude in his new office. Clearly the Kyth’s Grande Dame doesn’t trust him to do his duty—to protect her.

She fears the truth.

Piper Ryan isn’t keen on the arrangement either. Matching wits with an ancient warrior isn’t in her administrative job description. But sharing space with the red-hot head of security could have unexpectedly tempting benefits . . . if he doesn’t dig into her secret past.

Opposites always attract.

When a mysterious e-mails result in danger, the fiery sparks between Piper and Grey grow scorching hot. They must defend the throne from a deadly invisible attacker, but will their raging desire keep them together . . . or will their burning suspicions tear them apart?

Well, sigh, that just helped my morning improve by many degrees and on many levels. I vote YES, on the tat AND on “the guy underneath!”. Thank you Grey for gracing us with your presence this morning. . . . Does DJ know you’ve hijacked his blog to post your cover? Not that I am in any way complaining, just giving a warning, ya know. Have a super day! And, um, stay safe. He may be younger than you, but he’s sneaky. (DJ, that was a compliment!) ;-)

Out of all the Talions covers, Grey your cover just made my favorite. Who would have thought I would get over a leather duster in Sandor’s cover? Grey I have a feeling you might be my new favorite Talion.

Note I said favorite Talion. Sorry but the Paladins were still my favorite group of warriors. Talions come in second. Sorry and all of men in both groups, DJ is still my favorite of them all. I can’t wait for DJ’s cover. No doubt will be my favorite.

Anyway I can’t wait to read it. Just this morning I reread Dark Warrior Unleashed and Dark Warrior Unbroken. Reading them made me think what it would be like if Paladins meet Talions. Eventful no doubt.

Btw that blog was interesting Alexis. Interesting is a good word for it.

    Well… Ciao for now.

    Tori ^^

    Tori,
You obviously have good taste in men. Anyone who does would obviously prefer me to Grey Danby.

It’s sunny here in Seattle, and where am I? Stuck underground watching the barrier fluctuate. Where’s the justice in that?

Of course, I’d rather be here than sitting next to Alexis while she tries to make some serious progress on Larem’s book. I sure don’t want to distract her because I’ve been hearing rumors about what’s next on her agenda.

    WOW!!! Um…*fans self* yeah…that’s one…oh my…

    What a cover!

    *sigh*

You know, it’s still not up at Amazon. Shame on them! Though I pre-ordered this a few weeks ago. Since I get the cover up close and personal here, it’s all good :D

Did I mention my family bought me a SAD Light for my birthday? I thought *that* made me happy, but this!

Alexis, I want to know what you and Bonnie are bribing the cover gods with, because when I get published, I want the same chance :P

And DJ, I have a feeling yours is going to be the best of all.

Speaking of sun…I SAW THE SUN TODAY!!! It really does exist!! I couldn’t stand it. Yes, the road is chocolate pudding in spots, but I had to take the car out and play for a bit. It feels like years since it’s been this beautiful out. And 57 degrees.

Oh, DJ? I’d happily share my sun with you! ;)

  12. nightsmusic Says:
    March 8th, 2010 at 4:46 pm

Oh, and I meant to say, is there any way I can get a close up of that tat, Grey? I wouldn’t mind having one of those. Since I can’t have what’s underneath it of course…

  13. Victoria Taylor Says:
    March 8th, 2010 at 4:58 pm

Well DJ, I would like to think I have in good taste in men. If I didn’t, what would that say about you? -giggles- Anyway I’m sorry to hear that you’re stuck in the caves and not enjoying the rare sunny day outside. If it helps, I would gladly switch places with you. Though my sword skills are kinda lacking. I’m good with guns and bows, not like that’s really useful. -shrugs-

Anyway maybe my new addition to my family can brighten your dog. She’s pretty cute. A 8 week old white German shepherd puppy. She doesn’t have a name yet so I call her Nom which is name in French. Here she is:
    http://i229.photobucket.com/albums/ee42/unknown_wanderer/Nom.jpg

It’s not the best picture I have ever taken. Well I’m off to play with her. Ciao.

Alexis - Fabulous cover!!! Like the others have commented, love the tat and what is underneath! Wow! If Grey’s cover is that hot, then D.J.’s will melt the computer screen….it will be interesting explaining that to my husband! LOL.

Tori- Your new baby is adorable!!! What a cutie!

NM - We had sun this weekend and now are back to cloudy and rainy. Luckily it is supposed to clear up by the end of the week.

Well, I’m off to pack some so I don’t freak out Friday night remembering all the stuff I still haven’t done.

    Stay safe!

Whew, back from Disneyland with candy hangover and soo tired, and what do I see? Why the super hot cover for Grey’s book! (love the excerpt in Defeat the Darkness) Great way to start my day back home :)

  16. Laurie Says:
    March 8th, 2010 at 5:27 pm

Oh, also, I read Hunter’s book on the drive to SoCal, and is it weird that any time I ’saw” DJ, I felt like “I know him!” It felt like when you see someone you know on TV…you just keep thinking “Hey I know him!” I guess it means that Alexis, you’ve done your job; your characters are indeed real!

  17. Caron Says:
    March 8th, 2010 at 5:27 pm

Weather, with that cover art, we’re talking about weather? (rain all day until now. 2 inches in the last 2 days, but that’s ok, My swamp was starting to look a little dry)

Is Grey there to answer questions? ‘Cause I know DJ has been commenting. I don’t actually have any questions at this time. My brain is pretty much toast, but I will think of something. ;-)

  18. D J Clayborne Says:
    March 8th, 2010 at 5:45 pm

Tori–what a cute puppy! I miss having something warm and fuzzy around, although my ‘keets are good company when I’m writing.

Laurie, thank you for saying my characters become real to you. That’s just about the best thing someone can say to a writer! A few years ago, Suzanne Brockmann ended a book with a character named Izzy in big trouble with the Navy. I told her when I met her right after the book came out that I felt like should be baking cookies and writing him letters to help get him through. I’m so excited because her next book is his!

Grey’s not around right now, but I’ll try to get him back soon–

    Now off to fix dinner–

Btw everyone… I meant to write can brighten your day, not brighten your dog. Yep my brain is malfunctioning today. If you think my typing is bad, you should hear my speech.

Thanks for thinking my little ankle biter is a cutie. She is adorable. She does have a habit of wanting to nibble on me. It’s kinda cute but slightly painful. You should see the condition my hands are in. I had tiny scars on my hands now with a few band-aids on my fingers.

Greyhill Danby really does a wonderful cover. Too big it isn’t bigger or a poster. It would look lovely on my wall… right next to my cardboard cut out of James Dean.

Off to fix dinner as well-

    Tori ^^

    *thud*

    *picking jaw up off floor*

Alexis, talk about a drool-worthy stunner of a cover. *shaking head* Every time I think they can’t get any better, they do. *happy sigh* Thanks for sharing.

I was comparing some of the details of the various Talion covers and for some reason noticed what was below their waists. *wicked grin* Ranulf had a plaque belt that to most folks shout “Dark Age Barbarian/Viking.” Sandor had trousers, with a nice leather belt and silver buckle and now Grey is in nice comfy-looking denim jeans. I love the minute differences that subtly point out the differences in the men. Oh and for some reason, when I saw what there was to see of Grey’s jawline, chin and nose, I immediately thought of Russell Crowe. Now when Grey is ’speaking’ in DWU I’ll be hearing Russell’s voice.

Okay, enough rambling. And DJ, I know you’ll have an outstanding cover no matter what. Especially since you can sneak into the publisher’s cover-imaging program and dink around until you’re happy with it. ;-)

    Later!

  21. Dani Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 12:42 am

Oh man I have a new respect for jeans *drools then realizes she needs a boat for the amount of drool gazing at the cover has caused* I can’t wait to read Grey’s book now.

I still haven’t read Hunter’s book. Can you believe it! Walmart in Leigh Acres and Ft Myers Florida do not have it… of all things they do not have your book *shakes head* it’s alright though… I am planning a trip to BAM on Thursday.

Thursday will consist of: getting off of work (7 am) grabbing a nap, leaving to grab good Japanese food, a trip to BAM, and my Wicca Class… and what’s the occassion you ask? It’s my 29th Birthday!!! Unfortunately I will be celebrating alone *sighs* no significant other to be with.

Alexis-can I steal DJ away for the day?

    Dani

  22. Delilah Says:

Know we’ve talked about him before BUT… Christian Kane released an album today through iTunes and Amazon 5 songs for about $3.50

Not only is he incredibly sexy - he sings good too. I don’t know but his House Rules is to my mind a definite Paladin song.

    Alexis here–
Dani, sorry you’re having trouble finding the book.

But for your birthday– and don’t tell anyone about this–the guys will stop what they’re doing and send a mental line dance to you–DJ, Lonzo, Larem, Barak, Trahern, Devlin, Chase, Jake, Jarvis, Hunter, and Cullen. Who knows, maybe even Penn will show up.

    Enjoy the visual at least,

    Alexis

    Tori - cutie baby!!!

Dani - Happy early birthday. Hope it is a wonderful one, but with you getting the guys for a line dance how could it be otherwise.

Sue- I can definitely see Russell Crowe. Yummy

OK need to take a momma moment. My 8 year old DH made the travel team here in our area. The greatest thing is it is for 9 years olds. She is so proud of herself. Now my life will be soccer 7 days a week because she also plays on another team. I use to not care about sports at all, but now it seems, I love them all, I can even watch baseball DJ! Are you proud of me?

  25. Summer Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 8:48 am

Alexis - Love the cover! When does the book come out again? I know it won’t be soon enough.

I am now an aunt!!! Our first, and most likely only, niece was born yesterday!!! Peyton Alysse is 8 lbs 6 oz and 19 inches a full head of strawberry blond hair. I can’t wait for her to come home so we cant steal her away for a little while. My oldest son is even signing up to take a babysitter training/first aid class in the hopes of babysitting her.

  26. Summer Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 8:53 am

Dee - Congrats on your daughter making the travel team, and I understand exactly what you mean by suddenly becoming a fan of certain sports. Bug (aka Logan), our 6 y/o, signs up for midgets football tomorrow and T-ball on Saturday. While today, I get to drive 4 hours round trip to take the 13 y/o to an acting class for 1 hour. And don’t even get me started about what things are like during soccer season (also football/marching band season) when all three boys need to be somewhere different at the same time. Sometimes it feels like I should just put a Taxi sign on the van.

  27. D J Clayborne Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 8:54 am

Dee–Enjoy those sports years; they go by so quickly. I remember when my son quit playing baseball, I didn’t know what to do with my time–I was the scorekeeper for three games a week!

Summer–congratulations on the new addition to the family. I’m sure she’s adorable! And the release date for Dark Warrior Untamed is July 27th.

Summer - congrats on the little one. Girls are sugar and spice and not always nice :). I have always said I don’t know how people with more than one do it and thanks.

Alexis- Thank you. The DH is having a hard time because he’s always coached her, but he is still coaching her rec team. I love to watch her play she’s always so focused.

  29. Delilah Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 9:47 am

Dee - Congratulations on your daughter making the team. That is so exciting!

Summer - Congratulations on being an aunt!! I’m soooo jealous! LOL. I have a stepneice who joined our family at 12 and that is it on my side! You are one lucky lady! And I think it is so cool you son is taking a class so he can baby sit.

Have a great night guys and stay safe!

  31. D J Clayborne Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 4:43 pm

Guess what? What, you dutifully ask? Well, your good buddy DJ got careless and I punched right through his firewalls again. So, yes, here I am, Jake, computer whiz extraordinaire!

I can’t stay long, but I just wanted to drop in long enough to say hi! Also, that all of us here in Missouri are so excited that our good buddy Hunter is doing so well out in his new home. The man deserved a good case of happy.

I’m slithering back out now before DJ (whose real name I’m convinced is Dumb Jerk or perhaps Doofus Jackass) retaliates. Jarvis so hates it when our system gets fried when I play a little “Tag, you’re it” with DJ.

    Jake

  32. Jackie B. Says:
    March 9th, 2010 at 6:43 pm

Well, Jake, I’m pretty sure you’re going to pay for dropping in like this, but I’m glad to hear from you anyway. Hunter definitely deserves a case of happy, but then all of you guys do. Anyway, thanks for dropping in to check on us. I’ll ask D.J. very nicely to go easy on you :-)

Dani, happy b-day!!! It’s my sister’s b-day too…March is a good month :) New Paladin book, HOT cover for Talions, and some great b-days! I’m 29 myself and come August, I’ll have my first anniversary of being 29 he he

  34. nightsmusic Says:

JAKE!!! :hugs: I’m so glad you dropped in. I’m sure DJ will understand. After all, he loves to keep all of his ladies happy and if a little visit from you does that…so be it, right? ;)

Happy Birthday, Dani. :D I remember 29 being the absolute pits. Thirty was a breeze. I don’t know why 29 was so hard for me. I just celebrated another one a few days ago, but I’m long beyond 29 now, so I sort of try to ignore them. :P

I need to take just a moment here…the Phantom sequel premiered tonight and GERARD BUTLER was in the audience *sigh* (but I digress) and evidently, the audience loved it. I’m glad. I did real all of the spoilers the other day. Thank you to TPTB for NOT following Phantom of Manhattan, the only other book besides a textbook full of more errors than a tomato has seeds, that I’ve ever burned. Threw it right in the fireplace and watched it go up in flames. When ALW first announced that he was working with Forsythe (who needs to stick to thrillers, but what do I know?) I swore I wouldn’t see the sequel.

    Ever.

However…my Vegas bud wants to see it so bad, she’s looking into air fares so we can fly to London to see it. For that, I’d watch it.

Anyway, that’s all. I just had to mention it since most of you know what a Phantom phan I am  *she says as she glances at her Phantom tattoo on her ankle*

  40. Laurie Says:

I’m going to see Phantom tonight!
I’m going to see Phantom tonight!
I’m going to see Phantom TONIGHT!

(Excited? Nah, not much) (yes, that was sarcasm)

I wasn’t sure it was going to happen, so I haven’t said anything, cause I didn’t wanna jinx it. And all this chatter about Phantom and all, it’s been VERY hard for me. Anyway, I’ve seen the movie, but never been to the live musical, so I am stoked! I’ll let you know how it all turns out. ;-)

Caron I’m happy dancing for you! Where will you see it?

  43. Caron Says:
    March 10th, 2010 at 4:03 pm

The Music Hall at Fair Park in Dallas. It’s an old school elegant theater. A bit weathered, but a grand old dame. (no disrepect to Kerry) DD got time off and is going with me. Yippee! Gotta go get ready. I’m having trouble sitting still in the chair to type. Ridiculous, I know. :-D

  44. D J Clayborne Says:
    March 10th, 2010 at 4:13 pm

That’s cool, Caron. I got to see Chicago this past weekend here in Seattle at the Paramount, another grand old theater. John O’Hurley played Billy, the attorney and he was great. The dancing and music was absolutely fabulous. Gotta love live theater.

    Back to work–
    Alexis

  45. Summer Says:
    March 10th, 2010 at 4:15 pm

Caron - That’s great!!!! We took our older two boys to see it on Broadway about 5-6 years ago and they still talk about it. I’m sure you’ll love it.

  46. nightsmusic Says:
    March 10th, 2010 at 4:31 pm

Oooh, Caron! You get to see Tim Gleeson as Phantom. He’s wonderful (not as good as John, mind, but still wonderful) and one of the nicest guys. I wish I’d checked in earlier. I’d tell you to meet him at the actor’s entrance, but you’ve got to be gone by now.

Laurie, yes, Becky and I go three times a year at least to see the Vegas show. Anthony Crivello is VERY nice as well as a wonderful Phantom. My heart belongs to John Cudia though. He is hands down, the best Phantom I have ever seen, and I’ve seen most of them. He’s the permanent NYC Phantom now.

Next time we go, I’ll try to let you know. We spend a lot of time at the Octagonal bar in the Venetian (at least I do, Becky likes to play the slots) chatting with Dave. OUR bartender ;)

And now, to address DJ in the mask…baby, you put that mask on and if you can even hum a tune, I’m all over you! And if you’ve got the mask on and nothing else? O. M. G. I’m yours for life! :innocent:

  47. Summer Says:
    March 11th, 2010 at 9:53 am

    Well, everything is set.
I’ve booked the hotel room, put the deposit down, and arranged babysitting.

Tomorrow after work we leave to pick up Alex’s birthday present, while he unwittingly babysits his brothers. (I thought that was a nice little twist.)
He has no clue what we are planning, thinks mom and dad are just taking a shirt trip due to all the health issues I’ve been having lately.

We should return home Saturday evening with a 7 week old Cavalier King Charles puppy. Something he has been asking for since before his youngest brother was born. His father and I have talked, and talked, and talked about it and figured that he has proven to be very responsible and mature for his age (he’s even arranged for a summer job to try and put money away toward buying one himself if he could talk us into it) and think that he is ready.

Now, it’s just a 12 hour round trip drive to go and get the little guy.

  48. D J Clayborne Says:
    March 11th, 2010 at 10:06 am

Summer–that is so cool! He’ll love you forever. I can remember my folks going for a drive and coming back with a fox terrier puppy for me. I loved that dog so much.

    Alexis

  49. Delilah Says:
    March 11th, 2010 at 10:33 am

Summer, how awesome! I just love puppy breath. I know, I sound weird, but I do.

So, I got a text from Caron last night. They didn’t get to see Tim in the title role of Phantom. Instead, they saw his understudy. I have no idea what this actor is like so I’m hoping she got to see a great show.

I’m just waiting to find out…

  51. nightsmusic Says:
    March 11th, 2010 at 6:57 pm

Grey, did DJ catch up to you? You’ve not been back for awhile!

Okay, well, I installed my new laptop keyboard and I don’t like the spacebar, but everything works so it’s a beautiful thing :D

  52. Caron Says:
    March 12th, 2010 at 12:01 am

Ok, between the late night last night and work today, this is the first opportunity I’ve had to check in. Since I know not all of you are as nuts about OG as NM is, I’ll try and be brief. Over all Phantom of the Opera was just wonderful. The understudy thing was really the only disapointement. He was OK, but had a few pitch problems and didn’t hold some of the notes as long as *I* thought he should and mostly I had just wanted to hear Tim Gleason. :-( Anyway, I think my favorite performer was the woman who did Carlotta, she sorta stole the show, though Trista Moldovan who played Christine was just amazing. (I guess I expected her to be amazing and didn’t expect Kim Stengal (Carlotta) to be so great.) Anyway, it was wonderful and I am now sad that I can’t go back and see it all again.

    Grey?
