Alexis is making me do this–
Okay, we all know that this coming Thursday is the day most folks in the State celebrate Thanksgiving. Our Canadian friends celebrated theirs back in October. I guess it’s not important when you celebrate Thanksgiving, but it is important to stop and think about what we have to be grateful for. So, after much poking, proding, and nagging by Alexis, I’ve asked a few of the folks that rattle around in her head with me what they’re grateful for. Feel free to add your own ideas to the list. I’ll start it off:
DJ–friends and football.
Lonzo–a roommate who picks up after himself.
Larem–a roommate who picks up after himself. <g>
Devlin–Laurel . . . and, well, football.
Trahern–Brenna . . . and big screen tv’s for football
Cullen–family and friends
Lusahn–Cullen, Bavi, and Shiri
Jarvis–Gwen, Chase, and even Jake. All of the John Doe’s are pretty important to me, too.
Barak–Lacey, and if you promise not to tell him, her brother Penn
Hunter–my book’s coming soon
Ranulf–Kerry and our people
Kerry–a Viking hubby who’s teaching me how to swing a sword while shouting Viking battle cries.
Sandor–my new life
Ambrose–having my story told.
That’s all for now–I’ll ask a few other folks to add their two cents worth in the next couple of days.

What a great list! I must say, DJ, that I am thankful for my family as well, but i don’t think i can extend that to football. But i guess if i think about it, football does make my hubby leave me alone so i can read Alexis’s books…so maybe i should be thankful for football after all :)~

God and Family. Ok… and football, soccer and basketball even though we’re having a bad year here in DC. Go Caps!

Great list DJ! So what I’m thankful for…
Having 2 books published
Another Thanksgiving with Dad
A great writing buddy that encourages me when I’m down
Everyone here.
Bonnie for giving me great advice
Alexis for being so supportive
AND all the Paladins for the line dancing.

I always hate these questions because there’s so much I’m thankful for.
My family
My health which is relatively good
My “living style” (DH still has his job)
All of the great experiences I’ve had throughout my life
All of you here
I have to agree, both Bonnie and Alexis for your invaluable advice and constant encouragement
Paladins, Talions and Vampires. You all live in a world I love to immerse myself in
And too many other things to list. I’d be here all day!
Oh, as a side note…Breathless shipped last night!!!! *snoopy dance*

DJ, One of the best things about Thanksgiving, apart from the food of course, is the opportunity to remember. When I make the time to do this, I realize that my list is almost endless. Well, it’s way to long to put here.
I will say that very near the top is being able to come here each week, to smile, be encouraged, be excited, to cry, to escape the “daily grind for a bit, and to laugh out loud - A LOT!
You all are a very sharp bunch! (too many puns there!)
Dee, one of my friends asked if what the Cowboys did actually counted as a win? The responses: 1. In the win/loss column? Yes. As a fan? No. 2. No, the Cowboys didn’t win, the Redskins lost. 3. We need another column. “Didn’t lose.”
Deej, sorry about the Seahawks.
That was pretty brutal.
Oh, did I mention that I, too, am grateful for line Dancing Paladins!!!

Caron - I full agree with you. We are a Redskins family and his best friends family are cowboy fans. So it is always interesting, but my favorite is when his friends daughter told my husband he looks like Tony Romo. I was ROTFLMAO. My husband was not happy.
There is so much to be greatful for… a video of the Paladins line dancing would be one of them….
Happy Thanksgiving everybody…hope it is wonderful for you all. I get to cook for 12 people on Wednesday and then 11 on Thursday… (shoot me now please)

Good morning, everyone!
I want to thank all of you for hanging out here with me and my stories. You have no idea how much it means to me. When I was out of town and dealing with the loss of my mother, the few minutes I could grab on the ‘net to see what you were all up to helped keep me grounded.
I’m grateful for family, friends, and all the folks who help make this all possible for me.
As far as football goes, the Chiefs managed to hold on to win in overtime. DJ (and my dh) were thrilled.
Enjoy your day–
Alexis

This was such a great idea, Alexis I’m glad you proded and poked DJ to get the info from everyone. I am greatful for;
My job
My family being healthy
My country
All of you authors that provide me with wonderful stories to read so I can escape from the day to day stressors of life.
This blog site cause all of you rock!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving week and can enjoy their family and friends.

Well, Happy Thanksgiving to you all! May you gobble turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce and pie and never gain a pound. May you have a wonderful time with those who mean the most to you.
I’m grateful to have buddies here who tell me things like: Breathless shipped last night! I didn’t know, so thanks so much NM for telling me here.
I have so many things to be grateful for it’s hard to list them, but here goes:
My dh who bought me a car this week (you likely know what a car buff I am so this is huge for me. I’ve been missing my sports car so now I have another.) vroom vroom
I have healthy, independent children with strong character and great relationships.
I have readers/writer friends who help me with whatever I need in terms of support and care and feeding. The writer’s soul is important to nurture and the people here do that for me.
I’m incredibly grateful to Alexis…she’s a wonderful dear friend I can call and whine to, cry with, laugh hysterically with. She “gets” me and that’s priceless.
And another small thing I’ve grateful for? Thanksgiving’s in October and that means I can shed the weight BEFORE Christmas puts it back on. (Gee I wish you Americans would get the date right —- heh heh heh)
I’m going to be all over the net in the coming days…guest blogging and so on to celebrate my new release so I may not stop by much. But if i don’t get back here see above for my wishes for all of you.

I am also greatful to have this list Alexis (and DJ)
I’m glad to have a job-even when it’s anoying!
I’m greatfull for my family and friends, and now a boyfriend….what a year can make
I’m greatful that I may not be published, but that the chance to express my feeling and my words are a freedom that will not be taken away from me.
Yes, line dancing Palidans are great, but just having that world to go to when I’m having a day like today is something to look foward to. Because I’ll be tossing myself into a book when I get home b/c for the first time my kids are gone for a whole week, my ex is getting married on Wendsday and Stress at work is not getting easier.
Love you all girls

Strohs, do you have “people” for Thanksgiving? You’re not going to be all alone, are you? If so, you WILL come and hang with us, won’t you? (sendin’ the love, girl)

Caron,
Thank you for the invite. I will be having a late Turkey Day with my boyfriend and my room mate Marie. I’ll be doing the cooking, which is good. I plan on playing with the stuffing, b/c I don’t eat it, I’m trying to make it so that I will. I got something to do with Crannberries in it, I’m hoping it’s good!
We need to get together again, soon. Give me a ring, the number is the same I think…. heck, you can all have it… I text message alot!!!

For all of you who like cookbooks - there’s a link to one I put together from Red Rose Publishing Authors on my blog - http://delilahstephans.blogspot.com
Also a little news - signed a contract yesterday for the vampire novella I’ve been working on for three years!
November 25th, 2009 at 12:26 am
Delilah, that is so wonderful! Congratulations! What’s it called? When is it coming out?
And thanks for the link to the cookbook! (I love cookbooks)
November 25th, 2009 at 9:13 am
Caron - the title is The Envoy and the plan is to have it out sometime in June or July - will let you know when it’s more definite.
November 25th, 2009 at 9:39 am
Delilah! Whooping it up big time on your new sale! I’m soooooo happy for you–even if its a vampire. What is it with you and Alexis and this thing you have for fangs????
D.J. (I’d do another dance, but Devlin is threatening me with a feather duster and a tunnel full of dusty light bulbs again)
November 25th, 2009 at 10:19 am
LOL - sorry DJ - but the Paladins are spoken for and Alexis would get mad if I stole you from her. BUT it does have a sword fight in it….
November 25th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
Delilah! HUGE congrats. How cool is this? I would never attempt a vampire anything!
So happy for you!
It’s so satisfying when it’s a story you’ve never quite let go of, right?

Yeah… Envoy is close to my heart in many ways -
1. The length of time to finish it.
2. It takes place in my home town - so I got to showcase some beautiful spots.
3. I love the heroine - she’s spunky
November 25th, 2009 at 1:48 pm
Mmm, love spunky!

I have to be thankful for my family and my few close friends that I only know via IM’s and email.
I am someone that works and stays at home, my life outside of home and work is pretty much filled with books with heroes and their beautiful mates/wives.
I suppose when things are tough if my friends or family are not around the books help me through the tough times, wishing that I had someone like that in my life. *sighs and shakes head*
Depression aside, holidays are supposed to be fun and filled with joy, but come Christmas Day and Winter Solstice I may not be as happy.
