Hob is back!

Okay, I found this pattern for a knitted gargoyle, and asked a friend of mine (who is a master knitter) how hard it would be to make him.  She offered to try the pattern out for me if I bought the pattern and yarn.  She did such an amazing job, and he is just so cute.  I’m going to try my hand at making one, but I am nowhere near the talented crafter that she is.

Anyway, I can’t wait for all of you to meet Hob in My Lady Mage and the other two books we have scheduled for this series. He was such a fun character to work with even if he tried to steal every scene he appeared in. (Bad Hob!)  Each of the five warriors has an animal companion. Aren’t you a little curious about what kind of man has a gargoyle for a pet?

Hope your week is off to a great start.

Memorial Day

Today is the day we honor all of the members of our military who have served our country both now and in the past. As I’ve said before, my father served in the Coast Guard on a frigate in the North Atlantic in WWII. His two brothers also served, one in the Navy and the other in the Coast Guard, both in the South Pacific.  My father-in-law was in the Army and served in Italy during the war.

There are no words that fully express how much we owe to those who stand ready to defend our country and to their families who serve in their own way.

One of my favorite things to do is donate to Green Beans Coffee’s Cup of Joe for a Joe program. For $2.00. Green Beans Coffee will give a cup of coffee to one of our military personnel somewhere in the world. I love getting the thank you notes from the recipients and see where all they are stationed.  Here’s the link if you’re interested: http://www.greenbeanscoffee.com/coj/

Enjoy your day–

Stopping in . . .

Lonzo here– Alexis just assured me that she’ll be posting the end of my story on or around June 1st. Sheesh! She says something like that, and now I can’t sleep nights worrying about what’s going to happen next. You all have seen some of the stuff that the other guys have gone through! For Pete’s sake, Trahern, DJ, and even Hunter died in their stories. Barak almost did when he called the mountain down on his head.
Guess all I can do is wait and see what happens. At least I only have a week or so to worry about it.

Hope you’re all having a more relaxing week than I am!

And the winner is:

Okay,I know I haven’t been around much lately, but I thought I’d stop by and pick the winner for the Warriors of the Mist book thong.  It’s not as cool as mine was, of course, but it’s still pretty cool. So drum roll, please!

Ashley, congratulations!  You’ve won!  Please e-mail your address to Alexis at:

The countdown continues!

It’s just over seven weeks now until the official July 3rd release date for My Lady Mage.  To celebrate, I’ll be giving away one of my very cool book thongs designed by Mandy at Stupid Shiny Designs to commemorate the series.  I love the logo she designed–the W & M for Warriors of the Mist, and the lines representing the river where they sleep when not fighting on behalf of the gods.

So here’s this week’s question:  Who is your favorite hero and why?  Doesn’t have to be one of mine or even fictional.  I’d love to hear about some real life heroes and heroines, too!

Alexis

Celebrate big!

This is a day when we should take the time to honor all the fabulous women in our lives. Mothers, yes, but also sisters, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and all the others who touch our hearts and make our lives better.  I bet each one of us could easily come up with a long list of ladies who have offered their support when we most needed it, made a gray day brighter with their smile, and dazzled us with their amazing talent.

So happy day to all of you!

A new friend who picked the winner of the ARC of My Lady Mage!

Everyone, meet Hob!  He’s the avatar of one of the Warriors of the Mist. I’ve had great fun getting to know him as I’ve written the three books.  He agreed to pick the winner of the ARC of the first story, My Lady Mage.  He chose Denise!

Congratulations to her and thank you to everyone who responded!  Stay tuned because Hob assures me there will be more special giveaways as the countdown continues.

Denise, if you’ll send me your address in care of my alexismorgan @ alexismorgan.com email address, I’ll get the book out in the mail to you asap.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!
