The countdown is starting!

I think it’s about time to start counting down until the release of My Lady Mage in just over two months from now.  So here’s what I’m thinking.  I spent a lot of time picking out the perfect animal companion for each of the five Warriors of the Mist.  I’m curious about which animal you would pick for your perfect warrior hero to have fight at his side. Or if you’d rather, which animal would you pick for your very own avatar?   Next Monday I’ll pick one person who leaves a comment to receive an advanced readers copy** of My Lady Mage!

Alexis

**just fyi, an advanced readers copy is based on the galleys before final corrections are made.

Hi, everyone–

Just so you know, we’re in the process of moving my site to new hosting to get the Members Only Section fixed, hopefully by the end of the week.  Again, thank you for your patience!

We’ve been  having nice weather here in the NW, although today is definitely hot chocolate with a good book kind of weather.  I plan to knock off work early and indulge in some mocha chocolate in a few minutes.

Did any of you see that my beloved Mariners were the losing team in a perfect game pitched by one of the Chicago White Sox?  I’m sorry we lost, but it was interesting to see it happen.  That was only the 20th regular season perfect game in the major leagues.  There was one more in post-season play for a total of 21.

I got to babysit a puppy over the weekend. It’s been years since I’ve played with a puppy, and it was hard to give him back.  Love cuddling a little furball like him.

I’ve also been quiet because I was finishing up revisions on my second fantasy book, which I wanted to get back to my editor by yesterday.  Mission accomplished!  Then I spent a few days polishing the third book in the series.  Next up is the e-novella that will introduce everyone to my new contemporary series next August.

Take care,

Alexis

Look what came!!!

Yep, this means it’s now less than three months until the release of my very first fantasy romance, My Lady Mage!  These are uncorrected proofs (or galleys), another important step in the long process to final publication.  It’s a long process starting when I first type “Chapter 1″ at the top of a page to when the books are shipped to bookstores and mailboxes everywhere. I will be giving away a couple of these galleys in May and June, so be sure to check back here for the details.

For those of you familiar with Brenda Novak’s efforts to raise money for diabetes research, I’ve also donated two of the galleys to her auction, which takes place in May. Here’s a link you can check out if you’d like to learn more about the auction and how it works: http://brendanovakforthecure.org/

On another topic, the plan is to finally get the Members Only Section up and running by the end of the week.  I want to thank everyone for their patience–it turned out to be a much more complicated fix than we anticipated.  As soon as it’s up and running, I will post an announcement.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Alexis

Just wanted to share . . .

I hope everyone had a great weekend!  Mine was quiet–I’ve turned the corner and racing toward the finish line on the third book in my fantasy series.  When I get to this point in a book, it’s really hard to stop writing.  I want to see how it turns out just as much as I hope my readers will.  :-D   I’m really loving these characters and especially the hero in this book.  I sure hope he gets his happily-ever-after because right now things are looking particularly grim for him.

I also wanted to share a picture of what my dh surprised me with this weekend.  He earned a lot of hubby points with these.  It was our anniversary. When I got up, these were sitting on the kitchen table waiting for him.  I’m still smiling.
