Hope everyone had a great weekend! I was really excited to receive a shipment of new bookmarks–these are for MY LADY MAGE, the first book in my new fantasy romance. Although the book won’t be out until July, I thought some of you might like to get an early glimpse of the cover art and what the story is about. For the first ten people here in the States who send me their snail mail address to alexismorgan @ alexismorgan . com (with no spaces), I’ll be glad to send you one hot off the presses.
And just to let you know, starting in mid-February, my website will have a whole new look. Starting the day it debuts, I’ll have some cool giveaways! One person each day for a week will get a cool gift–stay tuned for more info!
For those of you who follow American football, I hope you’re happy with the results of Sunday’s games. Both games were hard fought and went right down to the wire–and beyond, since one went into overtime. The Superbowl should be fun, although often the playoff games to get to the Superbowl are often the better games. Not sure yet whether I’ll be cheering for New England or New York. I have two weeks to make up my mind.
But I do need your opinions on something. In honor of the playoffs, Reggie and I decided to make our own pizza from scratch. We conquered the dough, which turned out great. The sauce was fine, as was the cheese for the top. But here’s the thing–she’s decided she doesn’t like meat on pizza. Yeah, you heard me–no meat: no pepperoni, no sausage, no nothing. Instead she wanted to screw up my pizza with stuff like artichokes and spinach. Seriously–spinach. What’s up with that? Do I look Kalith? I know Larem and Barak like all kinds of weirdness on their pizza, but I expected better of Reggie.
She thought I should eat healthier stuff. Fine. But I like my salad on the side, not on the pizza.
What do you think?
For getting snowed in leaving me no excuse but to watch lots of football! I was on duty Saturday night–a small skirmish, just enough to get the old adrenalin pumping. We finished shoving our uninvited visitors back across the barrier, cleaned up and headed home. When I’d reported for duty, the weather was rainy. Imagine my surprise when I walked out of headquarters to several inches of snow! I didn’t have my camera with me, but Alexis took a couple of shots of the trees in her neighborhood. I guess they look pretty if you like that kind of thing. We don’t get all that much snow in Seattle, so driving is an issue. I do all right, being all manly and stuff, but it’s the other drivers you have to watch out for.
Me–I’m just happy I made it home. Reggie had a pot of soup on the stove, and the two of us curled up on the couch and . . . . well, eventually we watched the playoffs.
Hope your weekend was a good one.
Good morning, everyone!
Don’t know about all of you, but I spent a great weekend wallowing in the wonder of the NFL Playoffs. Not all of my choices won (so sad the Steelers lost), but a good time was had by all. Lonzo, Larem, Barak, Hunter, and all of the rest of the usual suspects got together to watch the games at Trahern’s house. All the ladies watched the games, too, but they had their own party at Devlin and Laurel’s place. Something about them wanting to actually watch the games, not spend the whole time fetching food and drink for us. Can’t believe they felt that way. Seriously, if I was up anyway, I would have brought Reggie some more pizza or something. I’m not a complete jerk.
Anyway, Alexis wanted me to announce that her new dragon is officially named Torch! Karen, if you’re reading this, send Alexis your address and she’ll send you an autographed copy of of Janice Kay Johnson’s newest book–it’s not even out in the stores yet!
DJ (counting the days until next weekend and more playoff games)
The newest member of my office menagerie! This fine, handsome fellow was a Christmas present from my friend Janice Kay Johnson. He’s about 30″ from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. I love his lean build and bright green eyes. The only problem is that he doesn’t yet have a name. I haven’t been able to come up with anything snazzy, so I thought I’d ask for suggestions. So any brilliant ideas for a dragon???
I hope everyone had a wonderful New Years!
