Everyone, meet the lovely Bianca
Road trip
Good morning, everyone. Hope you all had a great weekend. As you all know, Alexis hit the road to do a signing at Powell’s at Cedar Crossing in Beaverton, OR. Her good buddy Janice Johnson went along for the ride. She usually describes herself as Alexis’s transit lane dummy, so Alexis can zip through Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia, WA, in the fast lane. I went along for the heck of it. I like to think I was there to ensure they had a safe trip, but really I was ducking out on Devlin. Never mind what I did–or what he thought I did–let’s just leave it at that he needed a bit of time to cool off.
The signing was interesting. It’s a seriously cool bookstore, for one thing. Besides, it’s always fun to lurk in the background and listen to fans tell Alexis how much they love me–I mean us, you know, the Paladins. And, yeah, a few mentioned the Talions and the fang boys in passing.
Alexis had a good time talking with the other authors, too. She sat next to Margaret Mallory, and that was fun. She also got to meet the writing team of Ilona Andrews, and also Meljean Brook. On the way home, she and Janice spent a couple of hours at the main Powell’s Bookstore. It’s about a square city block in size, and three stories tall. They have actually color-coded the rooms and provide maps to help customers navigate the place. Amazing what you can find in the stacks in Powell’s. Alexis bought coloring books about castles, dragons, and knights. I have no idea what she’s got in mind for those.
And now for the sports report–the Chiefs are 2 and 0, their best start in years! Whahoo. The M’s managed to pull off an exciting win. The Seahawks, not so much.

Biting my nails . . .
Good morning, everybody! Have to admit that I’m a bit on edge, and it isn’t because the Chiefs are on Monday Night Football. Nope, it’s something far more important than that. Alexis is starting on revisions on my book. Okay, that might not scare you, but who knows what that woman will decide to do to me next! Yeah, I know that this isn’t any different than what any of her other guys have gone through to get their own story, including the fang boys and those Talion guys.
However, I’ve seen what she did to them, not to mention she’s now had plenty of opportunity to hone her skills. For Pete’s sake, she KILLED Trahern and Hunter. Devlin started off dead at the beginning of his book. Jarvis was laying in a creek all cut up like confetti. Do you see a trend here????? I bought her a tall Mocha Frap at Mickey D’s yesterday. I swear it wasn’t a bribe. No, I just know she likes them, and I thought it might make her day brighter. Really.
Well, for sure I’d better leave Alexis alone to work. Pestering her or hovering over her shoulder will not help my cause. I’ll check in later, but making myself scarce seems to be the best plan.
Maybe I’ll go polish some lightbulbs for Devlin, bang swords with Lonzo, or go see if Hunter needs some help dipping tea bags.

Sorry I’m late
Okay, so this is embarrassing. Alexis and I were up plenty to early to post this morning. But she got to watching a movie and made me join her. Imagine, me–a big tough Paladin–forced to watch WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE. Gotta admit the puppets or whatever you call those guys were pretty cute. That book was a particular favorite of hers when her kids were little, and I can see why. Then she got caught up finishing Jayne Castle’s newest release and telling me all about dust bunnies and why she wants one. This one is a little biker dude, complete with a studded collar to wear. Pretty cute, I have to admit.
Chiefs won over the weekend and the M’s managed to pull one out yesterday. All good. Off to work–hope all of you have had a good weekend.
